But with Hello Health, we’re sure you’ll appreciate being able to take just a few minutes out of your day to see us online when you have a question or for a follow up.
WILL MY HEALTH INFORMATION BE SAFE?
All online activity is managed in a secure, HIPAA compliant environment. Emails, prescription renewals and access to your Personal Health Record can be securely and confidently accessed.
DO I NEED SPECIAL COMPUTER EQUIPMENT?
All you need is an Internet connection and you can use Hello Health today! However, if you are planning on having video visits with Dr. Williams, you will need a web cam. Hello Health is simple to use!
WHAT IS A PHR (PERSONAL HEALTH RECORD)?
It is a secure online version of the paper medical records you store at home. Or maybe you’re like a lot of people, and don’t have your medical history documented anywhere but in your head. An online PHR is perfect for you.
You might ask, “Is it a lot of work to create my PHR?” Actually, No. Updating your PHR is as easy as filling out a patient form at my office, but now you only do it once, online. If you are on Facebook it is just like setting up your profile. And similar to Facebook, you get to choose what information you want to include and what information you want to share. Once you’ve created a profile, you will have your medical history available anytime and anywhere just by logging into the secure Hello Health website.
So if you are away on vacation and get sick, if you have kids and need to know all about your child’s immunizations or need to keep track of medications and their dosages, all of this can be stored in your Personal Health Record. The great part is that it is available anytime you need it.
It makes good sense to have a Personal Health Record.
WHAT IS AN EHR (ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORD)?
All doctors keep a medical file with your medical history, including conditions, medications, labs performed, consultation and care plans, etc. It is a legal record of the care provided to you. I have kept patient records in a paper format. I am transitioning all patients to online record keeping using Hello Health. We will use the features provided through this tool to create an Electronic Health Record (EHR) for you. Just like your medical file we will keep this private and secure and you will be able to request online access to information within your EHR. Once you sign up for Hello Health all future visits will be documented online, in your EHR.
HOW DO I SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?
You can schedule all in-office, online or phone visits using the availability calendar on Hello Health. You can go online 24/7 and see all the available times. Click on the time you want to make an appointment and fill in the necessary information. If you do not find a convenient time, feel free to call our office during normal business hours to make an appointment.
WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR HELLO HEALTH?
Dr. Williams has decided to improve her office administration and needs your support to run her office as an independent private practice and still accept most insurance plans.
Your insurance coverage does a good job of covering the costs of medical care in our office, but doesn’t pay for the in-office administrative fees, online access or the convenience and the peace of mind you will gain when having your health information all in one place with the ability to access anytime and anywhere. We’re sure once you use online scheduling, email communications, prescription renewals or get the answers you need, all online, you’ll see what a great value it is.
CAN I SAVE MONEY WITH HELLO HEALTH?
Although every patient’s situation is different, it is easy to see that in-office visit costs will be reduced by using Hello Health. When you move some of your appointments or questions online instead of coming to our office you will save time and travel costs.
WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY AN ADDED FEE FOR PHONE, INSTANT MESSAGING (IM) AND VIDEO CONSULTATIONS?
Paying extra, above the Essential Health Connection fee for online phone consultations, instant messaging and video consultations is paying for Dr. Williams’ time to meet with you at a scheduled time remotely. It is like having an in-office visit, but online. In some cases, private insurance plans might cover a portion of the cost for remote consultations. You will need to check with your individual insurance plan.
HOW FAST SHOULD I EXPECT A RESPONSE WHEN I SEND A SECURE MESSAGE TO MY DOCTOR?
On weekdays you can expect a response to a written message within approximately 24 hours, potentially sooner. If sending a message over the weekend, you will receive a response within 48 hours.
Remember to never use the email messaging system if you are experiencing an emergency. Call 911 or go to your nearest Emergency medical facility.
HOW DO I PAY?
Part of the simple registration for our Hello Health service includes authorization of an automatic withdrawal from your credit card or debit card. Payment will be made via credit or debit card, including HSA accounts as permitted by terms of your individual plan. The Essential Health Connection annual fee may not be billed to private or Federal insurance plans, since it is a communication tool access fee and not medical care.
